Steve Aoki

Steven Hiroyuki Aoki, better known as Steve Aoki, is an American DJ and producer of electronic music and electrohouse, founder of the record label Dim Mak Records. It currently ranks No. 7 among the 100 best DJs in the world, according to the annual survey conducted by DJ Magazine.

Steve Hiroyuki Aoki was born in Miami and grew up in Newport Beach, California. He graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995, was a star player on the Badminton Varsity. His father is Hiroaki "Rocky" Aoki, a Japanese born in Tokyo and his mother, Kobayashi Chizuru.1 His father was a former wrestler who also founded the Benihana chain of restaurants. He has two older brothers, Kana (who is now known as "Grace"), and Kevin (owner of the Sushi Doraku restaurant). Kyle, Echo and Devon Aoki, the supermodel and actress. As a child, Steve lived with his grandfather, his mother and his two older brothers.
